SANCTA VISCERA TUA

Première> 12 April 2014, Igreja de Santa Clara, Porto

“An object becomes “itself” (that is, the carrier of value) in so far as it participates in a “symbol”; an act acquires meaning in so far as it repeats an archetype.”
Mircea Eliade

“The coming of the microphone was gradually discovered to be incompatible with the use of Latin which is a corporate, low-definition form of mutterings in its ritual use.”
– Marshall McLuhan

“If you throw information at a black hole, just before it is swallowed, the black hole first makes a copy that is left outside.”
Chris Adami

New sonic and scenic piece constructed from the archetypes present in the structure of a Via Sacra to be premiered at the Igreja de Santa Clara, the former church of the women’s convent constructed in 1457 in Porto. The Via Sacrum is here treated as a temporal and organizational structure, serving as a policy for the reenactment of the invisible, the nigredo present in the sacrifice, in a human collective action and celebration that accompanies the notions of violence, mesmeric fluids and autopoiesis as means for the mediations between flesh and spirit.
A vibrational construction of Sound, Gesture, Light and Voice.
